All registered voters in Fredericksburg should vote by mail. Today is the BEST day to request your ballot
You have three options to complete this step.
Complete Online Application for an Absentee Ballot (available if you have an official Virginia Driver’s License or Identification).

Complete the form and return to the Registrar

Drop off your completed application in an envelope at RED DROPBOX in front of 601 Caroline St (Executive Plaza Building) .
When the application is received, an official Ballot and return envelope will then be sent to you by mail by the Registrar.

After applying, an Absentee Ballot will be mailed to you by the Registrar. You should receive your ballot in the mail a couple days after the Registrar receives your application.
1. Read the instructions provided by the Registrar.
2. Complete the Absentee Ballot, marking your choices for Mayor, City Council, and School Board
You can cast your vote for ONE Mayoral Candidate
You can cast your vote for TWO City Council Candidates
You can cast your vote for TWO School Board Candidates
3. Put the completed ballot into the envelope provided by the Registrar.
4. Fill out the BACK of the envelope.
You will need to have someone witness and sign the back of the envelope next to your signature. If you have no one to do this step with you, ask the mail carrier, a food delivery driver or a neighbor to witness it for you from a safe distance (and offer to witness theirs!)
5. Mail the completed ballot and envelope with First Class Postage (55 cents) either at a local mailbox or post office or leave it in your mailbox for the mail carrier to pickup
